WAMEDA, Inc. is organized to educate the public about the art of Mid-Eastern dance; organize ethnic dance and cultural events; develop educational materials related to Mid-Eastern dance; publish a newsletter on Mid-Eastern culture and dance; and to promote instructional seminars and workshops on Mid-Eastern dance.
Did you know? We are not just in DC! We have events and members in DC, MD, and VA. We have many members in neighboring states, and national events are listed by WAMEDA, Inc. In addition to a bi-monthly newsletter, WAMEDA, Inc. offers our teachers opportunities to reach new audiences at our teacher's workshop. All members have the chance to perform at the annual Members' Showcase each June; an annual Hafla showcase and workshop, featuring a nationally known guest artist/instructor; a lending library containing many books and videotapes; meetings with instructional and entertaining programs where you can socialize with other dancers who share your interests. Members are afforded the opportunity to purchase a swap table at our annual swap sale in August. Members also receive discounts at WAMEDA events!

WAMEDA is proud to present Sadie...
WAMEDA, Inc. Hafla Weekend 2008
(Septemeber 12-14, 2008)
An International performing artist, instructor and choreographer, Sadie is recognized worldwide as one of today's most exciting and talented Belly Dancers. First seen as a “Rising Star” on BD-TV Vol.II in 2004, Sadie now teaches and performs across the globe, has over a dozen instructional and performance videos on the market and is one of the highest viewed Belly Dancers on YouTube with over three million hits.
2008 is going to be one of Sadie’s busiest and most exciting years filled with performances and workshops across the US and Internationally to countries including Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, The UK, The Canary Islands, Holland and more. Several of her new instructional video will be released throughout the year which include a beginning belly dance box set, a second drum solo video and a couple of technique based videos produced by both IAMED and Hollywood Music Center. Sadie also has some fun workshops, events and projects lined up with her dance partner Kaya, including their 3rd Annual Summer Workshop Series held in Denver, CO.
